For full article, click the image.

Forth Worth-Arlington area in Texas has made the top ten best cities to live in the Nation. Critics might say that this is because Forth Worth-Arlington sits comfortably left of Dallas, Texas. However, this is not entirely true. Forth-Worth pretty much holds it's own. It is 14% cheaper to live in, it has its own shopping districts and a culture of its own.

Lubbock Authorities Urge Residents to Be More Watchful For Motorcyclist

For the full article, click the image.

The city of Lubbock, Texas has decided to start the "Share the Road" campaign a bit earlier. The campaign is set to run state wide in the spring of 2011, but after four extra motorcycle related deaths, it brought Lubbock's motorcycle deaths total to 9 for this year alone.

Think of motorcycle safety like this. When you cross the street, more times than not, you look left, glance over to the right, and take an extra peek to the left, than cross. These are the same principles the city of Lubbock is trying to get all motor drivers to follow to be more cautious and to avoid more deaths.

What are other channels of communications Lubbock can use to get their message across?

Is Texas Ignoring Greenhouse Gas Rules

Click the photo to read the full article.

Texas is the only state in the nation to not have moved towards or implement any new regulations for Greenhouse Gas Emission. All states have had since 2007 and until January 2, 2011 to have new regulations in place; however, Texas has not done so. Texas is asking for an extension in time because they claim the EPA has given them too little time to comply with federal regulations.

How does this make you feel?

Fighting Affects More People Than You Think!

Click the image for the full article.

In Amarillo, Texas, a four year old boy was outside playing while two families line up nearby to fight. Both families where evenly matched, about 10 people each, all armed with baseball bats. During the scuffle, a bat was tossed and hits the boy directly. Report say that there are no visible injuries, and how fortunate.

Is it really worth the trouble to round up in a neighborhood to settle differences, and at that, with the use of violent forces? It is good that they packed lightly, I can only image the blood scene that could have happened if the two families would have brought knives or guns.

Tyson Employee Charged For Meat Tampering?

Tyson worker, Nwee Lah. Click his photo for the full article.

Nwee Lah is a former employee at the Tyson plant near Amarillo, Texas. He is accused of inserting broken pieces of saw blades into the meat. Luckily, for the consumers, a co-worker caught him in the act and notified management who immediately notified the police. The meat Lah packed was thoroughly inspected multiple times; however, there are no signs of the broken blades and if convicted, Lah is looking to face 2 to 20 years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines for a second-degree felony (for tampering with the meat).

That was a quick summary of the article. Do you think it's fair that Neww Lah be punished? The scene would leave anyone to believe that he was, but after thorough inspection, no meat was found contaminated. A reasonable punishment would be to keep him away from the production line, but to fine him and charge him with a second-degree felony that can imprison him for 2 to 20 years, that seems a bit over the top. What do you think?

A Gentle Gunman

19 year old Colton Tooley, a University of Texas student, was found dead in the northeast corner of the sixth floor in Perry-Castañeda Library after his jog across the UT campus. Tooley would occasionally shot a few rounds randomly, but not one round during his strut was aimed at harming students or the passerby. Instead, he shots directly into the ground or into the sky. The mystery will remain for what triggered Tooley's tantrum but it was fortunate that he only gave students a scare rather than give them admissions to a near by hospital.

What should I expect from Texas News?

Before I begin, I want to make sure that there is an understanding that I am not trying to place a bad name on Texas or any of it's cities, towns, industries, or organizations. My aim is to share some fun and interesting news published in Texas and to scoop out Texas for future trips. This should be interesting for the both of us because my home town is Wichita Falls, Texas and I will be pulling news from all over. Please enjoy, and in spite of my home town and state, I want to share a  youtube.com clip of King of the Hill : "Hank's Cowboy Movie". Please excuse the first five seconds, but I'm more than sure the twist of event will be very amusing.
